Much More than Etc.

Man continues to be divided only because the human heart has not ceased the desire to supersede the presence of the Almighty.

If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could better judge what to do, and how to do it. We are now far into the fifth year since a policy was initiated with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to slavery agitation. Under the operation of that policy, that agitation has not only not ceased, but has constantly augmented. In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not expect the house to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other. – Abraham Lincoln, June 16, 1858.

"Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great." Luke 6:47-49.

The issues that plague us have forever been the same. We want to blame the Liberals, Conservatives, the poor, the rich, the Black skinned and the White skinned, the Hispanics, and the list is ad infinitum. Not one of these excuses brings solution because they are what they are….excuses. However, God tells us that on He is the solution to each and every problem of man.

Jesus tells us that, "Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like……” He is directing His thoughts at everyone who rejects Him.

"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil. exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." John 3:18-21.
