One With the Lord

Most of us are very much like Peter because we will brag and proclaim "I will never", we will deny and retort, "I did not", but few, with a repentant heart will cry out, "I love you, Lord!"

One with the Lord
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, "THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:15-20.

“Michael Jackson belongs to us!” replied the young man to a question. However, Mr. Jackson now belongs to the ages. In the same way, many who are thinking that they “Jesus is mine” is just as wrong….Christ belongs to no one because He controls the Ages.
However, Believers are able to proclaim that we belong to Him, that the Holy Spirit lives in us, and we must glorify God with our total beings….our bodies.

We are living in an absurd time. The economy, not just our local, state or national economies have gone south, but the World economy has plummeted, perhaps in historical proportions. But the economy is only a small portion of that picture. Mankind continues to plummet at a very rapid pace as well.
We as Believers, however, must not cease to be who we are in Christ because we are members of His Body. In all that we do we are to honor him in language, purpose and thought. There is not a miniscule part of who we are that is not under His Divine Authority, nothing.
Because, as Paul writes, our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit we are to keep it immaculately clean. Have you ever seen a movie where the scene comes along and someone takes his white gloved finger and wipes the bookshelf looking for just a spec of dirt? Of course, this is nothing more than pure arrogance, but when we stand before the Lord, we will know that we are pure having been accomplished by the Presence of Holy God in our lives. WE are to live above the standards of man because we were purchased with a price.

Paul admonishes us, “to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2.
