The person who denies Moral Absolutes is an absolute idiot and fool because in doing so Almighty God is denied for He alone is the Author of Moral Absolutes.
"The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God". They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good." Psalm 14:1.
A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man's heart directs him toward the left. Even when the fool walks along the road, his sense is lacking and he demonstrates to everyone that he is a fool. Ecclesiastes 10:1-2.
Webster’s Dictionary defines “is” as being “to be” and “be” is defined as being “to have an objective existence : have reality or actuality”.
President Bill Clinton identifies the world in which we live that is described as being Post Modern when he said to a Grand Jury, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true." I tend to think that In many ways this episode represents the thinking of the Post Modern because there is no sense of Moral Absolute Values present in what Mr. Clinton says. (This is, in my opinion, the thinking of a very, very good politician of which the President is.)
The disintegration of modern culture has taken on huge proportions and we can now say that black is white and white is black. In other words we tolerate everything. We have adopted the ridiculous thought that everyone ought to be a winner and that no one should lose. Everyone should be rewarded, even for failure. Mediocrity is now acceptable and our children are taught that to be honored for success and achievement is somehow degrading and wrong. And because of such nonsense wrong is right and right is wrong. Homosexuality and perversion is acceptable and somehow honored as being ‘alternant’ life style.
Thievery is lawful, and indeed is supported. If one does not think so, why is it that the American taxpayer is literally paying millions of people to sit at home and become parasites instead of informing them that the Apostle Paul writes, “For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example. For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.” 2 Thessalonians 3:7-11.
Certainly, Scripture also tells us to care for the poor of society. However, because the Bible does not in any fashion contradict itself, we must understand that when God’s Word is making reference to the Poor we must remember that the Poor are those who are unable to care for themselves. The Poor are not able bodied sloths. “The desire of the sluggard puts him to death, For his hands refuse to work; All day long he is craving, While the righteous gives and does not hold back.” Proverbs 25:21-26.
The emergence of poverty in this Nation is manufactured so that those in seats of power can be the keepers of good. However, “The wicked earns deceptive wages, But he who sows righteousness gets a true reward. He who is steadfast in righteousness will attain to life, And he who pursues evil will bring about his own death. The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their walk are His delight. Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, But the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.” Proverbs 11:18-21. The last phrase is of utmost importance, “the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.” Those who are in relationship with God are those who will be delivered from the move toward a godless environment.
WE are witnessing the rapid decline of our culture, in part, because elected officials have embraced icons of socialism that is not progress, but progression toward moral and cultural collapse. As a result the masses are beginning to embrace an intellectual and moral collapse of enormous proportions. What we see as being hailed as pluralism is the loss of individual pursuit of happiness and prosperity. The moral tragedy here is the race toward acceptance of sin and careless disregard of Holy God and He alone is Judge.
“I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:1-8.
There is a gospel that is being taught today that helps people to feel good about themselves and the world in which we live. WE are being told that everything is okay and that goodness will prevail because of the social programs that are being established. But I agree with Paul, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” There is a difference in what he said as opposed to what I am saying. Paul writes, “For the time will come…..” I am saying that the time has come. What Paul was standing in fear of we are now experiencing for we are observing the birth of a world order that will carry us to destruction unless people turn to Jesus Christ for direction.
Now, you tell me, WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF ‘IS’?
