The Foolishness of the Heart of Man Solved

Do we recognize the image of the fool in the mirror?

Then King Rehoboam consulted with the elders who had served his father Solomon while he was still alive, saying, "How do you counsel me to answer this people?" They spoke to him, saying, "If you will be kind to this people and please them and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever." But he forsook the counsel of the elders which they had given him, and consulted with the young men who grew up with him and served him. So he said to them, "What counsel do you give that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, 'Lighten the yoke which your father put on us'?" The young men who grew up with him spoke to him, saying, "Thus you shall say to the people who spoke to you, saying, 'Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter for us.' Thus you shall say to them, 'My little finger is thicker than my father's loins! 2 Chronicles 10:6-10.

Crises after crises after crises seem to be the order of our day. However, in the 60 short years that I have lived, Crises after Crises after Crises seemed to be the order of my day, too. And as the Preacher in Ecclesiastes wrote, there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9. Nothing has changed except for the Crises!

The Foolishness of the Heart of Man simply continues, does not get any better, but those that are foolish do multiply in number. There are not only more fools in leadership, but there are even more fools that agree with them for they voted for those fools. And I reference them as fools because they have rejected the wisdom of God by reflecting their collective belief that there is no God.

In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, And the greedy man curses and spurns the LORD. The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him All his thoughts are, "There is no God. " Psalm 10:2-4.

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; There is no one who does good. God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who understands, Who seeks after God. Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one. Psalm 53:1-3.

Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me. Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it; Yes, let him recount it to Me in order, From the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming And the events that are going to take place.” Isaiah 44:6-7.

And He provides the way to Himself, “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” John 14:1.

Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. 1 Peter 5:1-5.
