Are We Committed to the Church?

Are there too many “Gate Keepers” in the local church and far too few Committed?

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5.

The call of God upon the heart, soul and strength of every Believer is to simply love Him. However, the most obvious testament of most who attend the local church is that they are lovers of self.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3.

Prisoners of the Lord will be compelled by the indwelling Holy Spirit of God to walk according to the manner of the language spoken. The problem is that many who are members of the local church are also members of the ‘local whatever’ and their language of body and mouth make that certain.

Ephesians 4:11-16.

And He gave
some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Vv 11-13.

Those who are given the task to lead the Church of Christ must preach the Word in and out of season allowing our hearts (in Christ) to be testaments of the Person of Christ to the His Church.
As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love Vv. 11-16.

As the Church is the Body of Christ, our children will become the Voice of Truth in community rather than the Children of Lies in the street.

Jesus is Lord
