Essential Ingredients

Man’s knowledge and understanding of God are limited until, by faith, Jesus Christ is embraced.

Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence-- As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil--To make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence! When You did awesome things which we did not expect, you came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence. For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.” Isaiah 64:1-4.

There have been and there are many who seem to have an acute understanding of the Bible and say that they also understand God. Many of them are revered as being Biblical Scholars and correctly so. Unfortunately, not all of them have what we might refer to as ‘faith understanding’.

Someone once said, “If you are on the right track and sit still you will get run over.” Understanding without faith is very much like that. One may be on the right track when the Bible is read and understood from academia. However, until faith becomes a part of the formula, the Essential Ingredient is missing.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:1-3.
